In reply to remarks made by President Donald Trump

A statement from National Association of Black Catholic Administrators

The National Association of Black Catholic Administrators appreciate and love our Sisters and Brothers from Haiti, El Salvador and the nations of Africa. We condemn the remarks made by the President which goes against the teaching of our church. ‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your strength, and all your mind.’ And, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ Luke 10:27

There is no place for words and deeds of hate. The Catholic Church proclaims that the dignity of the human person is the foundation of a moral vision for society. This belief is the foundation of all the principles of our social teaching. As we celebrate the legacy of Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. we remember so many of his inspirational words:

“The ultimate tragedy is not the oppression and cruelty by the bad people but the silence over that by the good people.” – Martin Luther King, Jr.
